Hi
I realise there's a lot of work involved in this, but if you don't mind, I'd like to write my thoughts here.
Personally, I think the last few remnants of the underlying WinCE UI should be overlayed as soon as practical. By that, I mean the combo boxes, check boxes, sliders and keyboard.
They simply are not up to the task of being operated with fingers on a touchscreen.
Take for example opening a route - you touch the nice big finger sized SkyDemon logo, then Route, then Open - all good so far... then you have to pick from a teeny, tiny list using your fingernail... then all good again with the big chunky buttons at the bottom.
Also, the SIP keyboard that pops up for text entry is designed for a stylus, not a finger, is almost impossible to use in flight, and actually doesn't work at all on some devices.
I hope this doesn't come across as overly negative.
